Kim Stephan

General Counsel

Kim is a pragmatic and solution-focused general counsel who leads with empathy, curiosity and collaboration. She has spent her career in fast-paced and complex operating environments with private (venture capital and PE-backed) and public companies. Kim brings over two decades of legal and industry experience to CIBO Technologies, having held leadership positions with several technology companies operating in a variety of industries.

Kim handles a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including governance, executive compensation, privacy, and SaaS contracting with customers, partners and vendors. In addition, she has substantial experience managing litigation and advising on M&A, compliance, employment, corporate secretarial and IP matters.

Prior to CIBO Technologies, Kim served for 7 years as General Counsel of Virgin Pulse (and its predecessor RedBrick Health), a global health and wellness technology company. In that role, she was responsible for all corporate transactions, commercial agreements, intellectual property, privacy, regulatory and employment matters. Kim also led non-Legal business functions, including the People/HR function for Virgin Pulse and the member support operations team at RedBrick Health. Previously, Kim spent 8 years with Capella Education Company (NASDAQ: CPLA), an education technology company, leading their corporate governance, public company compliance and state regulatory functions.

Kim began her legal career as an associate with Lindquist & Vennum in Minneapolis, and then spent 9 years with Graham & Dunn in Seattle, becoming a shareholder in their financial institutions practice. Kim graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with a B.B.A. in Finance and received her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where she served as a managing editor of the Law Review. Kim resides with her family in Minneapolis and enjoys traveling, reading, volunteering, outdoor activities and time in nature (perhaps more so during some seasons than others!).
