CIBO Adds Scope 3 GHG Emission Expertise with New Hire

MINNEAPOLIS (October 17, 2022) – CIBO, the science-based software company that provides the food and ag value chain with a complete platform to drive ag carbon and nature-based climate programs, announced today the appointment of Grant Ivison-Lane as Director of Agricultural Carbon. Ivison-Lane will drive the design of CIBO’s agricultural carbon reporting solutions to resonate with existing and forthcoming standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Science Based Targets Initiative, and the Value Change Initiative.

“Grant brings a multidisciplinary background in ecosystem services assessment and greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting that will be a valuable addition to our customers,” said CIBO CEO Dan Ryan. “We are excited to welcome Grant, whose technical expertise, diverse experience, and deep commitment to sustainability standards will help drive the company into our next phase of business growth and impact.”

“CIBO is a unique company that is both mission and science-based in its approach to scaling regenerative agriculture,” said Grant Ivison-Lane, Director of Agricultural Carbon. “I’m excited to help drive the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions nationally.”

Prior to joining CIBO, Ivison-Lane was the Protocol and Standards Director at Ecosystem Services Market Consortium (ESMC), where he drove the development of the ESMC Scope 3 GHG market-based intervention accounting protocol. He brings over seven years of experience supporting GHG inventories for large agricultural companies, market programs that generate Scope 3 GHG credits, standards advocacy, and CDP reporting in compliance with the GHG-Protocol Corporate and Scope 3 Standards. He developed some of the first agricultural inventories of GHG emissions in California’s San Joaquin Valley and also has applied ecosystem services frameworks to support decision-making on large, multi-stakeholder projects.
