Carbon Market, Agriculture and Digital Allies to Sequester CO2 in the Soil

StartupItalia investigated how the agriculture industry has ended up in the crosshairs of those who want to reduce man’s environmental impact and the effort it takes to feed the world. However, agricultural activities, which today contribute to the emission of GHG, can represent a means not only to achieve climate neutrality but also to represent a tool for reducing the gases present in the atmosphere.

In the article, CIBO co-founder and Professor at Michigan State University Bruno Basso shared the different methods to calculate the amount of carbon dioxide sequestered in the soil. He discussed how CIBO uses advanced ecosystem simulation, AI, and computer vision technologies to model the regenerative agriculture practices used by farmers that generate carbon credits.
