As farms shift toward regenerative practices and focus on long-term resilience, the traditional “safety net” programs and insurance products still lean heavily on older, commodity-centric models. As a result, many farms embracing regenerative systems are effectively left unsupported or forced to fit into frameworks that weren’t designed for them.
Risk models, financial and insurance products, incentives and even policy frameworks must catch up. Without that alignment, innovative production systems will continue to run into structural constraints, leaving both the farms and the downstream supply chains feeling the burden.
